New Features: PDF Extraction, Faster Template Re-use

August 02, 2012 by Andrea Spillmann

Things continue to move ahead quickly here at Captricity. Thanks to your requests, we recently rolled out new features to make digitizing forms even faster and easier:

Smarter extraction of multiple page PDFs

Many of you wanted data only from the first or last page(s) of your forms. Or your scanner grouped a number of forms into one file, or added extra pages on at the end.  Until now, you had to extract the pages you wanted manually before uploading. Now, you can upload filled-in forms with any number of pages. If they don't match the number of pages in the template, you'll be able to choose whether you want to select just a few pages from the file, or split it apart into separate forms.

Template document renaming and deleting

Captricity saves all your templates in your account so you can reuse them for future jobs. As you go through multiple iterations of a template and rack up dozens of jobs, however, it can get confusing to keep all of them straight. Now, you can rename template so you know which is which at a glance, and you can delete old or unneeded templates to avoid clutter.

Faster speed for template re-use

We've also made a number of technical improvements to speed things up.  If you run a  job using a previous template, the turnaround time may be reduced by up to 50%.
